We are still in the process of localizing and testing QuickTime but we wanted to provide you with this French preliminary version to help you develop softwares that will be compatible and easier to localize.
Make sure that your software, running on the US version of QuickTime, is also working properly with the French Init without any specific modifications. We would like you to test all the functions of your software as we have localized almost all the resources, including the names of the 'codec' components.
Then, check that the user-interface is still looking fine: after being translated, strings are longer, dialog boxes have been resized,…
Finally, we would like to make you aware that the French terminology is not yet frozen; there are even English words left. We will certainly change some terms, and of course translate the others.
